SNP PPC (Aberdeen North),
Joanna Strathdee's endorsement & reply

"The Scottish National Party (SNP) has a proud record of campaigning for
fair taxation. We passionately believe that taxation should be based on
the ability to pay, and have pursued that principle at every opportunity".

"The SNP plan to go further – we want to scrap the unfair and discredited
Council Tax altogether, replacing it with a local income tax that will be
based on the ability to pay. Doing so would mean low and middle income
people would be between £300 and £480 a year better off, and 90,000 people
in Scotland, including 10,000 children, would be lifted out of relative
poverty. In all, four out of five households will be better or no worse
off".
