Peter Lynn, Green

Green PPC (Colchester),
Peter Lynn's endorsement & reply

"Dear Fairer Tax Campaign Team,

Thank you for writing and bringing your campaign to my attention. I am
very happy to support it. Indeed, I would note that most of the specific
elements that you mention are very similar to existing Green Party policy.
For example, it is already our policy to reduce the threshold for 50%
income tax to £100,000 pa.

Inequalities are a root cause of many of the ills in society, including
poverty, poor health and crime. It is in everyone's interest to reduce
inequalities.

I would however also note that fairer taxation requires a reform of the
whole taxation system, not just income tax. Green Party policy does just
this, dealing simultaneously with corporation tax, inheritance tax,
eco-taxes and so on.

In response to your specific questions:

1. YES
2. YES
3. YES*

(*and I have already done so at a number of hustings and other
election events over the past six weeks)

Very best wishes",

Peter Lynn
Green Party parliamentary candidate for Colchester

P.S. (in case it was not clear), I will happily endorse the campaign!

---

Do you agree in principle with the aforementioned policy?*
*no commitment to act upon the policy

In a generic sense, do you believe that the rich should pay more tax and the poor should pay less tax?

Do you pledge to campaign for income tax reform at the next parliament?*
*not necessarily as specified with the above policy
