"Thank you for your email. While I am not prepared to commit myself to the specific detail of your proposal, I do believe that people should contribute a fair proportion of their wealth and income to pay for services. With those on the lowest incomes often paying the highest marginal rates of tax, I do not believe that our tax system presently meets that requirement.
As such, if elected, I am open to any proposals which help make the burden on the least well off fairer, and would be happy to push for this within my party".
